Independent Eye Care, Rooted in Longmont

Whether you are coming in for a routine eye exam, managing a chronic eye condition, or looking for the right contact lenses for your child, you will find a practice at Focus Vision that takes the time to get it right. Dr. Kevin Cottrell and Dr. Alexa Gutierrez see patients of every age at 1630 Hover Street in Longmont, and because this is an independent, doctor-owned practice, the care you receive reflects their values, not a corporate standard.

An Optometry Practice Built on Two Decades of Community Care

When you come to Focus Vision, you are seeing a practice with deep roots in this community. Dr. Cottrell has been caring for Longmont patients since 2003. Focus Vision was established approximately eight years ago after transitioning from a previous practice—built to be exactly the kind of independent eye clinic where you see the same doctor year after year and your history is never lost between appointments.

Dr. Alexa Gutierrez joined the practice in 2022 and brought with her a particular focus on children's vision and certification in the Brilliant Futures™ MiSight® Program for childhood myopia management. Together, they have built a practice where you are not a new face at every appointment—you are a patient they know.

Comprehensive Care That Goes Beyond the Prescription

Medical eye care is the core of what we do, which means your chronic conditions are managed here by doctors who know your history, using technology that documents changes at every appointment.

When you need glasses, your lenses are made on-site, which means faster turnaround and a final fitting. If you have never been able to wear contact lenses comfortably, or if your child's vision has been getting worse every year, there are options here that go well beyond a standard eye exam.

A Practice Where Every Patient Feels Known

You will see the same eye doctors here at every appointment. That is not a coincidence. It is how our optometrists in Longmont believe eye care should work. When your eye doctor knows your history, they notice what has changed. The goal at every appointment is that you leave feeling confident about your eye health and clear on what comes next.

Focus Vision has been building relationships in Longmont one patient at a time for over twenty years, and that is not something a chain can offer you.
