Lenses Made In-House at Focus Vision
When you get your glasses at Focus Vision, your lenses are not shipped to an outside lab and mailed back. They are edged, manufactured, and finished in-house at our Longmont optical laboratory. That means your order is not waiting in a queue at a facility we have no control over—it stays here, where we can monitor quality at every step and fit you accurately when your glasses are ready.

We also handle frame adjustments, eyeglass repairs, and lens replacements in-house. If something needs to be corrected or your frames need attention after your purchase, you do not have to ship anything out or wait weeks for a resolution.
Choosing the Right Prescription Lens for You
Your prescription tells us how to correct your vision. The lens type determines how that correction is delivered. If you only need distance or near correction, single vision lenses are the straightforward choice. If you need both, as most patients over 40 do, you have options that go well beyond a simple bifocal line.
Progressive lenses provide a smooth, gradual transition from distance to near correction without a visible line. For patients who spend significant time at a computer or performing close work at a fixed distance, occupational lenses are designed to optimize that specific range.
Lens Treatments and Coatings
Your lens material and design matter, but the treatments on the lens surface affect how your glasses perform in daily life. We will walk you through the options that make sense for your specific prescription, lifestyle, and budget.
Anti-reflective coating reduces glare from screens, overhead lighting, and oncoming headlights at night. It makes your lenses appear optically cleaner, improves contrast in low-light conditions, and reduces eye strain during extended screen use. It is one of the most useful treatments available for everyday wear.
Transitions® lenses darken automatically in sunlight and return to clear indoors. They eliminate the need to carry a separate pair of sunglasses for everyday tasks and are particularly useful in Colorado where you move regularly between bright outdoor light and indoor environments. Available across most lens types and materials.
Blue light filtering lenses reduce exposure to high-energy visible light emitted by digital screens. They are a practical option for patients who spend significant time working on computers, tablets, or phones, and can help reduce digital eye strain and improve comfort during extended screen use.
Scratch-resistant coating protects the surface of your lenses from everyday wear, extending the life of your eyewear. High-Index and Polycarbonate Lenses
High-index lenses are thinner and lighter than standard plastic lenses—an important consideration for stronger prescriptions where standard lenses become thick and heavy. Polycarbonate lenses are impact-resistant and lighter than standard plastic, making them a good choice for children, active patients, and safety eyewear. Both materials are available across all lens types at Focus Vision.
